What you'll be doing

  • Get paid to work on open-source projects
  • Manage the stability of our globally distributed, cloud-based infrastructure that powers our products daily. Ensure the Cloud Platform's own high availability, reliability and performance
  • Manage the implementation of application and infrastructure monitoring, incident management and change management workflows, and backup and recovery plans
  • Design and build security features and defences that protect the entire scope of the Instill Cloud platform and infrastructure
  • Monitor and analyse production security events and, as needed, provide in-depth incident analysis
  • Embed yourself into existing engineering and product teams, acting as a "security player-coach", and build relationships with other engineers, product managers and operators to enable delivering secure products

Things we'd love to see

  • 3+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems, platforms, and services in the infrastructure and cloud space, especially in the computing foundation field
  • Multiple years of GCP experience (or AWS/Azure) in developing and operating large-scale compute infrastructure
  • Skilful in Golang, Python, shell scripts, Terraform, and CI/CD tools
  • Experience in containerisation with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-native applications.
  • Knowledgeable of the best practices of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), zero-trust network, etc.
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and environments (public/private) and industry best practices and the ability to operate a cloud-scale service
  • Proven experience with production incident detection, response, communications, and remediation
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile startup environment
  • Proactive, self-learning, and self-aware
  • Intellectual curiosity, always asking "how can we improve?"
  • A strong desire to build world-class products
